To get the pictures to be a decent screen size when you click on them, you have to resize them in some photo editor (Photoshop, Photoshop Elements, others). Make the longest side 700 ppi, and set the resolution to 72. Hope that helps.
Or if you upload the photos to Photobucket, then copy and paste the code which has [a href=] (except with < > brackets), into your Blog post... then add width="500" towards the end, like this:
blahblah width="500"][/a]
Depends on the width of your Blog column (you can find out by checking the html in your template). Or just experiment. I know I go 400 for portrait and 590 for landscape photos. Hope this helped!
