12 of 12 February 2010

The 12 of 12 is a fun photo essay project started by a guy named Chad (click link) that I try to do every month. This month I took a bunch of shots on my Runyon Hike.

- Sage advice

- See? This is beautiful California.

- Walrus log.

- Cove in Frodo's side yard.

- Everyone takes a quick rest here. Good roots to stretch the calves on too!

- Your heels may stay but you'll get over. Got a caption?

- The covered Hollywood sign, a good cause (google it)

- Tracks on the ground.

-Signs of humans.

- Dog party!

- Partial self portrait at weed rock.

- Retaining wall with slight hand/iPhone movement.

Bonus - rout from the "Runkeeper" app. (great for runners/hikers/etc.):

The palm/sky picture is so serene! And Frodo's yard... I want it. My dogs would have a field day in that little mud pit, I'm sure.

Great pictures!!!

I'd enjoy Frodo's yard if Frodo came with it to keep it maintained. I'm really good at turning stuff like that into weeds.

The mud pit makes me glad my dog doesn't like getting wet. Yuck!

Nice 12!

Jill - I'm with ya on the serene! You should bring your puppies there for a nice run!
Beth - Thanks!
Chris - I think that's the beauty of a cove - no mowing or maintenance.
Sunny - Thanks, yeah good route for sure & these are only from 3 quick stopping places.

One day I'll get to Runyon for a hike or run... it seems so nice up there!

Chad - Was going to go today but got caught up, will have to settle for a run in the neighborhood.

Dogeared - Sure, come on by. It's kind of like getting out of the city - right in the middle of the city.

Cool photos! I was looking at that log photo which I really like but I did not see a walrus but rather a really angry duck. Funny how you can look at something in nature and see things in the shapes and sometimes we all see different things. Thanks for sharing your day!
